WHAT MAKES A LISTING WORTH 5 STARS?
Many hosts spend too little time writing the description of their rental, which is a mistake. Getting a 5-star review begins with what potential guests see and read online; their expectations of staying at your place are set by both the images and the description. If your description done well, you will earn a star just because you’ve met their expectations.
A well-prepared and spotlessly clean space tells your guests that you care about their comfort and wellbeing while they are your guest. Having a consistent system for preparing the space for guests will go a long way to meet and exceed guest expectations, resulting in more stars!
A picture may be worth a thousand words, but when listing your place, it can be worth money! That is, if your pictures show your potential guests exactly what to expect from the spaces they have access to, they can easily translate into stars.
The experiences guests have often dominate reviews, so being the host your guests expect, whether that is present and helpful or hands-off but reachable is extremely important to securing those 5-stars.
We all know that communication is the key to any good relationship, and that holds true for the relationships you develop with your guests. When you communicate with your guests, you set up the expectation that you are reachable and enthusiastic to have them as your guests. Good communication will add more stars to your reviews.
The actions you take AFTER your guests leave are just as important as the actions you take before. Creating a system that works consistently visit after visit is one of the easiest and most profitable ways of growing your Airbnb hosting business.
I ❤️ hosting!
From the anxiousness I felt waiting for the arrival of my first couple, to the tears I shed when a guest lost her mother, I have found hosting to be the most rewarding “job” I’ve ever had. I could never have imagined that I could get paid for doing something I absolutely love.
I’d be lying if I said it was always easy, or that there wasn’t a big learning curve.
That’s why I want to share what I’ve learned with hosts who are dedicated to hosting as a serious business, are curious on how to improve, and who love to share what is working for them.
In helping other hosts through the live trainings, workshops, and one-on-one work I do, I have found that the sharing here has become as rewarding as hosting!
I believe that short-term rentals create the possibility of financial support for anyone with the heart of a host.
